Shining steel towers mark the entrance to the wine regions, like the Cantina Sociale of Leverano, for those who catch a glimpse of it coming from the sea. In early autumn is the procession of the grapes, among rows of tractors and trailers waiting for entry into the temple of wine – 1.200 members working together, small trailers that still tell of hand-picked grapes, alternating with large, tall containers that speak of new and fast mechanical harvesters. The call of the grapes, variety, weighing, and sugar content, before crushing and entering the steel towers where ancient wisdom and modern knowledge blend musts and pomace, distilling aromas, flavors, and stories of landscapes and people, unique like every bottle of wine, precious like the bond between the members of the Vecchia Torre Winery, which has remained strong for over sixty years, renewing itself year after year with each harvest.
